How it works
1Your customer authorizes sharing
Your backend creates a session at POST /v1/connect-sessions and sends the customer to Connect, which handles the institution, credentials and OAuth.
2Openi connects the institution
The customer returns to your redirectUrl with itemId and status. Credentials never go through your application.
3You receive the data through the API or by webhook
With the itemId you list accounts, transactions and investments through the API, and webhooks report every change.
4The data keeps itself up to date
The connection syncs automatically, several times a day depending on the plan, and fires TRANSACTIONS_CREATED.
This is how the data arrives
curl -X POST "$OPENI_API/v1/connect-sessions" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OPENI_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{ "redirectUrl": "https://app.suaempresa.com.br/callback" }'
# The response includes the connectUrl.
# After connecting, the user returns to:
# https://app.suaempresa.com.br/callback?itemId=...&status=successUse cases
Bank reconciliation in the ERP
The statement arrives on its own and is matched with the ERP's entries. At Riocard, bank movements reconcile the transport operators' reimbursements and flow into SAP.

Transaction fields
Your customer decides what to share and for how long.
Openi is a technology company and does not claim its own Central Bank authorization. Open Finance operations take place within the contracted scope and the applicable rules, with participating institutions and providers.
- Account holder consent
- The customer picks the institution and authorizes access in Connect. Credentials and OAuth never go through your application.
- Sessions that expire
- A connection session lasts from 1 to 60 minutes, and its key gives no access to account data.
- Revocation through the API
- Deleting the item ends the connection, and the ITEM_DELETED event tells your system.
- LGPD
- Openi processes the data as an operator, with a published DPA, privacy policy and incident response plan.Security and compliance

Frequently asked questions
What is Open Finance?
It is the system regulated by Brazil's Central Bank in which customers authorize the sharing of their data between institutions. With Openi's API, your application receives that data, with the account holder's consent, in a single format.
Which institutions are available?
More than 800 institutions participating in Open Finance. The up-to-date list, with each one's products, comes from the connectors endpoint.
What data do I get?
Accounts with balance and limit, transactions with operation type, payer and receiver, and investments with positions, snapshots and movements. The plans state which products are included.
Does my customer need to authorize it?
Yes. Every connection starts with the account holder's consent, given in Connect. The customer can revoke access, and your system is told by webhook.
Do I need a Central Bank license?
Your application consumes Openi's API; the connection with the institutions takes place within the contracted scope and the applicable rules, with participating institutions and providers. For your specific case, talk to sales.
How does the free trial work?
You request access, our team unlocks the trial within 24 hours and you test the API with your own accounts before subscribing to a plan.
How much does it cost after the trial?
The commercial plans cost R$ 279.90 (50 active consents), R$ 629.90 (250) and R$ 839.90 (500) per month, with each additional consent from R$ 5.00 down to R$ 2.00. Enterprise is priced on request.
