4,000 bank accounts tracked through Open Finance

Fiotec reads 4,000 bank accounts through Open Finance, with thousands of transactions a month. Balances and transactions from every institution arrive in the same format, with the account holder's consent, and feed financial control with no statement downloaded by hand.

The challenge. Bank accounts.

A support foundation manages the funds of many projects at once, and it is common for each project to have its own bank account. Tracking balances and movements means logging into several banks every day and reporting on each account separately. Each institution delivers its statement in a different format, and putting it all together is the work that comes before any analysis.

Sample data, to illustrate the flow.

How it works. In 3 steps.

  1. 01

    The account holder authorizes once

The connection is made through the Connect widget: the account holder picks the institution and gives consent. Credentials do not go through the application.

  2. 02

Balances and transactions in one format

With the account connected, the API lists accounts and transactions from any institution in the same format, with pagination and a date filter.

  3. 03

    Webhooks report what changed

New transactions and changes in connection status arrive by webhook, including when a consent needs to be renewed.

How it runs through the API. In documented calls.

  1. GET /v1/items/{itemId}/accounts/{accountId}/transactions

Open Finance returns the transactions of the connected account.

What stays visible. Set apart for the people who operate.

  • Balance of every account in the same format
  • New transactions on every update
  • Account with a consent to renew
“We integrated Open Finance in one sprint. The documentation answers before we need to ask.”
