Integrations and reconciliations with Santander

With Santander, Openi integrates systems and reconciles the data that flows between them. Events arrive by webhook, the databases come in as data sources and the rule set returns what checks out and what needs review.

The challenge. Integrations and reconciliations.

In a bank, the same fact goes through several systems: the one that originates the operation, the one that settles it and the one that records it. Each has its own format, its own identifier and its own closing time. Reconciling means proving that what one system issued reached the other, with the same amount, and quickly pointing out what got lost along the way.

Events from one system, records from the other

Events (webhook)System of record

    NO_MATCH

    no pair

Sample data, to illustrate the flow.

How it works. In 3 steps.

  1. 01

    Events arrive by webhook

Each system sends its events to a Nexus inbound webhook, in JSON, as they happen.

  2. 02

The databases come in as data sources

The records on the other side are registered as a data source and sit in the same dataset model as the events.

  3. 03

The rule set returns the mismatches

The rule matches event and record. What checks out moves on; what has no pair or differs in amount is set aside for review.

How it runs through the API. In documented calls.

  1. POST /hooks/{slug}

Events reach Nexus through an inbound webhook.

  2. POST /v1/data-sources

Nexus receives the data source that goes into the reconciliation.

  3. POST /v1/rule-sets/{ruleSetId}/run

The rule set runs and matches the two datasets.

What stays visible. Set apart for the people who operate.

  • Event received with no record in the database
  • Record with no matching event
  • Amount difference between the two sides
